2026 Tomb Sweeping Festival

Dase-Sing Packaging will be closed April 3–6 for the Tomb Sweeping Festival (Qingming).

This traditional holiday, dating back to the Tang Dynasty, honors ancestors through grave cleaning, offerings, and remembrance. Operations resume April 7.

📖 Story Behind the Festival

The festival is linked to the Cold Food Festival (Hanshi), which commemorated Jie Zitui, a loyal retainer of Duke Wen of Jin. Jie sacrificed himself by living in seclusion; when the duke tried to summon him back, he set fire to the forest, accidentally killing Jie. To honor his memory, people avoided fire for a day, eating only cold food. Over time, this merged with Qingming, evolving into today’s Tomb Sweeping Festival
